Summary

The aim of the project is to implement a high-throughput workflow for in vitro sample screening, preparation and characterization of mammalian membrane proteins at the Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen. For this purpose, additional research infrastructure is required in the form of an ultracentrifuge designed for volumes in the 1-2 mL range. The addition of an ultracentrifuge will aid the elucidation of the molecular mechanisms involved in taste signaling and the development of new tools for detergent-free membrane protein purification in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner matching internationally, competitive standards.
