Summary

This project will establish a high-throughput system with very simple sample preparation for analysis of binding properties of monoclonal antibodies. This will enable students and postdocs to assess the prospected therapeutic utility of the antibodies early in the antibody discovery pipeline. As examples, these scientists may investigate how well an antibody is likely to neutralize snake toxin, how many blood factors a given binding protein can bind, or if certain antibody formats are able to cross-link their targets. The robust methodology further allows experimentation at various different physico-chemical conditions (such as elevated pH and temperature), enabling students and postdocs to explore antibody binding behaviours that earlier were very difficult to study.
