Summary

The project will install GISMO, the Goddard-Iram Superconducting 2-Millimetre Ob- server camera, on the 12 meter Greenland Telescope (GLT), to conduct a unique survey at 2mm of a key extragalactic field that the ESA Euclid mission will observe in 2022. The survey will shed new light on the genesis of the first massive galaxies one billion years after the Big Bang. This proposal ensures Danish leadership of one of the most important millimetre surveys of this decade, and makes Denmark a significant partner in the GLT, the only astronomical telescope in the Artic.
