Summary

Centrosomes and spindle pole bodies are major microtubule organizing centres of animal and yeast cells, respectively. Centrosomes serves as template for the formation of cilia and flagella. These structures play critical roles in cell division, cell polarity, signalling, immunity, motility and development. Centrosome abnormalities have been implicated in multiple human diseases, including cancer and ciliopathies. This recent realization has not only expanded the breadth and scale of the scientific community interested in centrosome and spindle pole biology, but also opened new avenues of research. The 2020 conference in Copenhagen aims to provide an inspiring and interactive forum to foster collaborations and new developments in the field.
