Summary
The Historical Economics and Development Group (HEDG) at the University of Southern Denmark has been approached by the UK-based Centre for Economic Policy Research CEPR with regards to hosting their 2021 Economic History Symposium. The aim of the symposium is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas within the Economic History research programme at CEPR. The goal is to promote comparative and pan-European economic history, moving away from disjointed national histories and seeks to improve our statistical knowledge of the European past. Moreover, it seeks to promote economic history which is presentist, using the past to illuminate current debates on macroeconomic policy, economic growth, globalization, and other pressing policy issues.
