Summary
The aim of this travel grant is to make a field expedition to Hareøen in West Greenland to investigate deposits from the last c. 150.000 years. We will focus on a succession of old lake deposits from the Eemian interglacial period when the global sea level was 6-9 m higher than present largely because of melting of the Greenland Ice Sheet. The samples from Hareøen will enable us to reconstruct the local climate in West Greenland and potentially determine the climate sensitivity of the Greenland Ice Sheet.
