Summary
The Carlsberg Foundation research infrastruture grant will be used to help finance the purchase of a Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometer (Pyro-GC-MS).The Pyro-GC-MS equipment will allow for quantitative determination of enzymatic lignin modification. It represents an important piece of equipment in our research, where we now focus on discovery of new enzymes that catalyze lignin depolymerization. Such reactions are of significant biological importance and not least of potential high impact in New Circular Bioeconomy processes.
