Summary

The organization of the cell depends on both membranes and membrane-less organelles. The formation of membrane-less organelles depends on a process called phase-separation that is important for the formation of nuclear bodies and stress granules in the cell. While both proteins and RNA are involved in this process it remains undescribed how RNA modifications contribute to the formation of membrane-less organelles. We are studying the contribution of RNA modification to the process of phase separation with support from the Carlsberg Foundation Infrastructure grant.
