The Algorithmic Turn in Security and Warfare

The project will organise an international conference entitled “The Algorithmic Turn in Security and Warfare”, hosted by the ERC-funded AutoNorms project at the Centre for War Studies, University of Southern Denmark. The aim of the conference is to critically investigate the profound transformations brought by artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the area of security and warfare. The conference will bring together international scholars across the social sciences to foster conversations across disciplinary boundaries that are necessary to fully capture this emerging phenomenon. It will create a platform for exploring new conceptual tools and research methods to better understand the implications of AI in security and warfare.
