Summary
In 1958-1963 Moesgaard Museum carried out a series of archaeological excavations on the island of Failaka in Kuwait and uncovered a settlement from the 2nd millennium BC belonging to the Dilmun Culture. A large number of beads in semiprecious stones were found during these excavations and have been studied by Ann Andersson. Many of them originate in India-Pakistan and testify to the importance of this site for the long-distance trade connecting Mesopotamia with the east.
