Summary

Inverted (fluorescent) microscopy is a powerful tool that can be used directly on cells growing in plates without the necessity of growing on inserts or slides. The ease and fast evaluation is especially important with genetically engineering of primary cells and the ZOE fluorescent cell imager awarded by Carlsberg Foundation will significantly speed up our research. We aim to use genetically engineered stem cells as medicine factories. We will instruct our stem cells to produce nanometer sized particles that can deliver drugs to the brain. In this way, we aim to develop a new treatment method for multiple sclerosis but our approach can be readily adopted and tailored for other purposes.
