Summary
Quantum emitters in the solid-state can emit single quanta of light (photons) and can be applied as carriers of quantum information. This ability makes them particularly attractive for the development of future technological applications such as the quantum computer. These emitters are however strongly perturbed by their surroundings and in particular by the vibrations of the lattice, the phonons. Our objective is to develop new spectroscopic methods that will allow us to investigate and understand in details how phonons influence our quantum emitters. We will use this new insight to design emitters that are less perturbed by their surroundings, thereby enabling the development of future energy-efficient quantum computers.
