Pasts in the Making: An International Conference on Historical Awareness and Agency

Our current world is characterized by histories that conflict with each other. As the recent war in Ukraine painfully highlights, these histories inform different understandings of the present and motivate clashing sets of future action. During this conference a group of leading international and Danish scholars will explore the ways people use the past. This exploration will advance our understanding of how different views of the past emerge, how this affects agency, and how this mutual determination of action and historical perception might be influenced by furthering scientific knowledge.
