Summary
The entire framework surrounding EU external relations law has been built from the ground up by the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union. At the beginning of the field's emergence, the legal questions to be answered concerned the division of powers and competence between, firstly, the Member States and that of the EU: and secondly, the division of powers and competence between different institutions of the EU. There is now 50 years of EU external relations law, and important case law in need of comprehensive analysis. This conference brings together Europe's leading researchers and scholars in EU external relations law to bring forth new ideas for how this field be understood by the wider community of researchers in European legal studies.
