Summary
Climate change, pollution, and an increasing human population are causing major challenges for our and future generations. We undertake research aiming at improving predictions of the impact of environmental stressors on crop production, other ecosystem services, and biodiversity. Our experimental work to data has mainly been laboratory based. To verify our findings and do research on sustainable solutions for future food and feed production and maintenance of biodiversity we need access to greenhouse space that can simulate ecologically relevant future climates. Therefore, we are applying for funding to construct a multipurpose greenhouse and insectary facility, where climate variables can be controlled from subarctic to tropical conditions.
