Summary
In molecular biology, modern experiments are often complex, with many repetitive steps involving manual pipetting, stirring, heating/cooling, etc. Many such experiments take a week or more of hard work, and have hundreds of individual steps. The longer the protocol, and the more steps that are required, the higher the chance to make one or more human errors. We are applying for a robotics system that can do most, if not all, modern experiments in molecular biology, thanks to its modular design and robotic arms that can be programmed. With this system, we will be able to do much more reproducible science, faster experiments and experiments with more biological samples.
