Summary

The Australian Antarctic Division in Hobart and the University of Copenhagen are both involved in ice core drilling projects aiming at obtaining million-year-old ice from Antarctica with a main goal of reconstructing the past atmospheric CO2 concentration. The research stay of Prof Thomas Blunier in Hobart aims at freshening up the long lasting collaboration of Denmark with the Australian Antarctic Division both on the technical and scientific level focusing on trace gas measurements.
