Summary
Cytochromes P450 (or P450s) are enzymes found in all kingdoms of life and contribute to fundamental biochemical processes in all organisms. Enzymes from this family show unique and unprecedented catalytic activities. Thus, harnessing their diverse capabilities has tremendous application potential for the biotechnological and agricultural sectors. An indication of the impact of these enzymes in the scientific community is the more than 51.000 papers appearing in PUBMED with the term P450, while 2.595 papers with this term were published only in 2021. The "International Symposium on Cytochrome P450 - Biodiversity and Biotechnology" will establish scientific knowledge exchange and international networking and ensure scientific synergy between diverse, experienced and younger scientists.
