Summary
The project aims to achieve a better understanding of the sea water rises, which could affect millions of people worldwide. To do so the project team needs to find out, whether a part of the meltwater from the glaciers is freezing to ice as it meets the supercooled seawater in the fjords. If this is the case, the frozen part of the meltwater is not measured with the methods scientists are using today. For this purpose, a remotely operated vehicle equipped with camera and sensors has been developed. With the funding from the Carlsberg Foundation we can cover the travel expenses to Greenland and do measurements in front of the glaciers.
