Summary

When did we cease to expect computers to teach us about programming? Through a history of the Commodore 64 computer, this book argues that the Commodore 64 is overlooked in computer history because it was considered "unserious", that the European history of home computing has been understudied, and that audiovisuals and entertainment were central to teaching users programming on early computers.
