What?

This project explores a new approach to materials science, wherein we combine high-throughput experimentation, computational insights, and advanced synthesis methods. This strategy enables precise functionality engineering of new optoelectronic materials, providing a blueprint for improving the performance of various applications, e.g., solar cells, LED's, thermoelectrics, etc.

Why?

Technological advancements are interdependent on the discovery of new functional materials. In particular semiconductors, powering everything from smartphones and computers to medical devices and renewable energy systems. We aim to accelerate the discovery of sustainable and innovative semiconductors with exceptional properties, which are critically needed for an increasing number of applications.

How?

High-throughput experimentation allows for simultaneously synthesizing and characterizing large arrays of different materials. This methodology enables us to assess the electronic and optical properties of hundreds of material variations concurrently, thereby significantly accelerating the development of novel materials and expediting their journey from discovery to application.
