Summary

This project looks at how Colombian and international experts worked to bring peace to the country by resettling refugees in the eastern lowlands. I explore which ideas about rural society informed these efforts and what caused the gradual shift to less state involvement in agrarian colonization. This study is part of a book project on the history of agrarian colonization in modern Latin America.
