Summary

Clinical care of osteoporosis focuses on bone mass but should equally consider bone quality, as 65% of fragility fractures are not associated with low bone mass. We will determine bone quality as an integrative measure of bone structure, composition, and material properties to foster the development of a clinical applicable measure to identify subjects at risk of fragility fractures.
