Summary

Biological cells are used as factories to produce valuable biomolecules. Examples are proteins such as insulin, mRNA vaccines againts coronavirus, small molecule drugs, and membrane vesicles for drug delivery. An important step is to purify the valuable molecules from other cell components and here ultra-fast centrifugation is a core method that helps separation to obtain pure samples.
