Purpose
The purpose of Research Infrastructure is to provide funding for the procurement of research infrastructure for addressing key scientific questions in the field, that could not be addressed otherwise.
Who?
The applicant must be a tenured associate professor, senior researcher or professor.
The applicant must be employed at a level equivalent to at least 80 % effort at one or more Danish research institutions throughout the grant period.
What?
The minimum amount that can be applied for is DKK 300,000. There is no maximum amount.
It is only possible to apply for funding to purchase equipment or apparatus, as well as for access to international facilities, including subscription fees for a specific period.
It is not possible to apply for funding for salaries or core facilities.

No. However, the Carlsberg Foundation will only in rare cases support applications exceeding approximately DKK 5 million. We refer to the list of what we have funded previously for examples.
The main difference is that "apparatus" often implies a more specialized or complex setup for specific tasks, whereas "equipment" is a broader term that refers to any tools or machinery needed for a task.
The terms equipment or apparatus are used interchangeably in the application guidelines.
