Resumé
With this proposal we seek support for the extension of our current single molecule confocal microscope setup, designed for the visible region, into the near infrared (NIR). Two new NIR sensitive InGaAs/InP single photon counting detectors are sought from the Carlsberg Foundation. This will extend our spectral range into the deep NIR region, allowing us to continue our development and characterization of novel fluorophores in regions with high tissue transparency (700 - 1700 nm).
