Resumé

A holotomographic imaging system enabling non-invasive, label-free 3D imaging of cell structure and refractive index via quantitative phase imaging in combination with traditional fluorescence readout will be established. The microscope will enable quantification and mapping of bio-optical properties in photosynthetic microorganisms and tissues of organisms containing phototrophic symbionts, which is essential for a more quantitative understanding of their photobiology and light propagation in complex living structures
