Resumé

Many studies have shown that students' well-being is strongly related to their academic achievement. It is also well-documented that students from disadvantaged backgrounds tend to have lower well-being in schools compared to their more privileged peers. There is much less research that focusses on the relationship of student-well being and other academic outcomes - such as for example students' educational choice. The project will therefor provide a systematic analysis of the relationship between students' well-being at school and their further educational choice. Moreover the project will examine if this relationship is different for students from different social backgrounds and whether the relationship is more or less pronounced in different countries with different education systems.
