Nordic Urban Archaeology – experiences and new directions

"The conference ""Nordic Urban Archaeology – experiences and new directions"" focuses on the outcomes of large-scale excavations, research and dissemination projects in the Nordic cities over the past decades. Twelve invited speakers will discuss the themes of the conference. Combined with an open call, we hope to share experiences, create synergy, and explore the future of urban archaeology from practice in contemporary urban development to curated museum objects. The conference addresses archaeologists and researchers working with archaeology or aspects of archaeology in the Nordic cities. The aim is also to lay the ground for a future Nordic Network for Urban Archaeology. The conference will take place in Copenhagen from the 11th to the 13th of May 2023. Selected papers will be published."
