Expertise In and Around Organizations

The purpose of the workshop is to discuss and advance novel knowledge about expertise in and around organizations. Expertise, understood as specialized knowledge and techniques about a class of social problems and related solutions or responses to these problems, is critical to any organizations looking to solve complex problems. The outcome of the workshop is an edited volume in “Research in the Sociology of Organizations” which will include a selection of the papers to be discussed during the workshop. The workshop program will be a combination of paper presentations and a keynote address on expertise.
