Resumé

The project aim to acquire a new state-of-the-art bioprinter to enable high-throughput biofabrication in a tomography-based light-driven volumetric bioprinting (VBP) of complex, functional organoid-laden constructs. The new instrument will be located at the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering (BCE), Aarhus University (AU), to facilitate new research possibilities within biofabrication for biomaterials engineering, organoid technology, biomechanics and mechanobiology, and attract new Danish and international collaborations. Ground-breaking advances are expected when we combine multiple functional biomaterials directly during operation, e.g. for a high-throughput printing of multi-scale vasculatures, intestinal villi and crypt structures, or lymph vessels.
