Resumé

The aim of this research stay is to foster and strengthen collaboration between the Max-Planck Institute of Animal Behavior in Radolfzell (MPIAB) and my Bird Migration Lab at Globe Institute, University of Copenhagen. We will use this research stay to plan and organise large-scale, collaborative tracking studies with the newest available technology. Such data will provide the basis for understanding the genetics of movement behaviours, conservation of biodiversity and for monitoring and understanding spread of zoonoses with obvious implications in a time of global change and a biodiversity crisis. The sabbatical stay is planned as two times three months from summer 2023 to spring 2024.
