Resumé
By purchasing an IonOptix apparatus, we aim to uncover some very complex behaviours of cardiac cells obtained from a wide range of animals (from mice to elephants). Besides acquiring fundamental knowledge, the apparatus will allow us to initiate new collaborations in the context of cardiac metabolism which appears growingly important in the animal kingdom and also in human pathology.
