Resumé

With this new and highly sensitive mass spectrometer we will explore biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) in Arctic waters. BNF is a key process controlling marine primary production, and thus CO2 uptake from the atmosphere. It was classically considered absent in cold waters, but this might change due to global warming, thus calling for a re-evaluation of this key process.
