Using mouse models to understand non-refreshing sleep

Most people know how it feels to be sick from a virus. Our behavior changes as part of the body’s strategy to fight the infection resulting in decreased appetite, increased sleep, and fatigue. Sometimes, although the body has resolved the infection, fatigue and sleep problems can persist for unknown reasons. This project will gain new knowledge about how the brain recovers from sickness.
