Resumé
The EGIG was a joint expedition between Denmark, France, Germany and Switzerland in West Greenland during the International Geophysical Year (1957-58). This campaign saw a prodigious amount of fieldwork on the ground, but also surveyed 20 outlet glaciers from the air along a 500 km transect. The Danish Geodetic Institute resurveyed the glaciers in 1959 and 1964. These aerial photos have been reprocessed and combined with modern data, resulting in a ~60 year record of change to the ice sheet margin. In 1953 and 1954 the US Navy conducted a complete and consistent aerial photo survey of all northwestern Greenland. It is with the help of this Carlsberg Grant that the USN photos taken along the ice sheet margin will be scanned enabling their inclusion into the data set for further analysis
