Resumé
This infrastructure grant will enable us to establish a 3D imaging and digitisation laboratory for archaeological objects at the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies at the University of Copenhagen. Advances in 3D image capture in recent years have caused a revolution in how archaeologists record, analyse and share images of archaeological artefacts and bones. These techniques make it possible to create highly accurate 3D images and models of objects that can be used to take more precise measurements. It also allows archaeologists around the world to collaborate on analysis withouth having to physically hold the object. One of the projects we will be undertaking in this new lab is to undertake geometric morphometric analysis of faunal remains from sites in the Middle East.
